This spec house defines a language for modern mountain architecture. It is modest in size and appearance and will be pursuing a LEED for Home Gold Certificate. Traditional forms are used with clean details. The composition is a simple rectangular form that is orientated for passive solar heating and cooling. Two contrasting boxes give definition to the entrance and master suite. Simple sloped roofs are angled to maximize PV and hot water panels. Materials include rammed earth, weathered metal and beetle-kill pine.
