MOM24 Wrap-Up

We partnered with UTSoA professors Kory Bieg, Daniel Koehler, and Clay Odom to present “Architecture After AI.” The exhibition showcased around 2,500 AI-generated images from about 60 architecture academics and practitioners worldwide, displayed as automatically scrolling slideshows. Held during NoBo’s First Friday art walk, the event featured a vibrant atmosphere with local artists, food vendors, and musicians

MOM x GFDA highlighted eco-friendly practices and materials that reduce CO2 emissions without sacrificing style in Interior Design. Attendees enjoyed a cocktail mixology session with POOLBOY, learning to make three seasonal drinks, and engaged in lively discussions on sustainable design with host Jay Ferracane and special guests.

MOM partnered with a select group of contemporary artists for a self-guided studio tour, giving visitors a chance to meet local creators in their workspaces. Attendees learned about artistic processes, viewed masterpieces, and could purchase original artworks. The tour highlighted Boulder’s contemporary talent, showcasing the vibrant creativity available in the community.

Part of Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoine’s Living Architectures series, this film offered a unique architectural experience shot in Copenhagen’s “8 House” by BIG. Following residents’ lives, it serves as a personal video diary, exploring connections within the building and questioning architecture’s role in fostering collective happiness. After the film, Robert Bean & Lila Morency of IMPACT led a lively exchange fostering a sense of community as participants connected over the film’s relevance to today’s social issues.

Complementing the “Architecture After AI” exhibition, we were joined by the UTSoA professors to explore AI’s transformative impact on design. To enhance the evening, participants enjoyed a cocktail mixology experience with POOLBOY, learning to create three seasonal drinks. The night featured a lively debate on AI, hosted by Adam Wagoner, creating an unforgettable experience.

Guests mingled while enjoying a specially curated menu from Blackbelly, paired with an array of beers, wines, and cocktails. DJ Eric Figueroa kept the energy high, throwing down tracks that blended traditional folk, hip-hop beats, and 80s vibes.

Studio Mobler set the vibe with stylish furniture for the perfect chill-out lounges, sponsored by Aurum, Boulder Lifestyle, and Signature Windows. These ambient spaces created a relaxing atmosphere where guests could connect in style. The night also featured exclusive live performances from Boulder Ballet and a hilarious sketch comedy segment by BETC, inspired by audience suggestions. Exciting giveaways added to the festivities, making the evening even more memorable. Plus, everyone left with a beautiful handmade Month of Modern keychain crafted by the talented Alexa Allen.

Whether long-time participants or newcomers to the Month of Modern, everyone found the Wrap Party to be the perfect chance to celebrate and connect with fellow modern design enthusiasts. We hope everyone had a fantastic time!
