Our dedication to community service is ingrained at every level of our firm, evident in our diverse involvements within Boulder’s art and architecture community. Whether through pro bono initiatives or educational outreach introducing young minds to the realms of architecture and design, HMH is dedicated to exemplifying civic responsibility within and beyond our industry. In pursuit of this goal, we annually dedicate countless hours to various nonprofit organizations through active participation, membership, sponsorship, and the contribution of our time and expertise.

Boulder Ballet

Boulder Ballet has a reputation for staging engaging and popular ballets and has been performing since 1982. Boulder Ballet’s vision is to be a leading arts organization celebrated for its excellence and inclusivity. They aspire to be a bold dance institution that creates a nurturing environment of artistic growth and builds a community of outstanding humans. The Boulder Ballet School (BBS) provides ballet training for all ages, pre-school through adult, in an atmosphere of creative excellence. As a professional-track ballet school, BBS challenges students dedicated to pursuing dance as a career but also welcomes those who dance purely for enjoyment.

We’ll open our season with a special program that celebrates connection. Personal connections are a fundamental human desire that can empower us to exceed expectations. Every work in this program amplifies that spirit, allowing both artists and patrons to enjoy a truly meaningful experience together.

CONNECTION features the works of nationally acclaimed choreographers Caili Quan and Amy Seiwert as well as local dance maker Sarah Tallman (Wonderbound) and our own Ben Needham-Wood.

The Nutcracker

The magic of the holidays takes center stage in our dazzling production of The Nutcracker. The famous story follows Clara on her wonderous journey through the Land of the Sweets. The entire family will be delighted by Tchaikovsky’s sweeping score, inspiring moments that will become cherished memories for years to come.

MINDFIELD is an evening-length collaboration exploring the intersection of movement and wellness through both physiological and neuroscience-based research. This contemporary ballet production showcases the artistry of three distinguished choreographers: Andrea Schermoly, Resident Choreographer for the Louisville Ballet; Brandon Ragland, Artistic Director of Dayton Ballet and our own Artistic Director, Ben Needham-Wood.

Les Sylphides

May 17–19, 2024, Dairy ARTS Center
Our spring production will deliver an evening of excellence. We invite you to enjoy four works by world-renown, classically-based choreographers who have shaped how we view ballet today. You’ll experience works that go from uplifting and lighthearted to fast and technical, showcasing the emotional range and impressive stamina of our dancers. This program features existing works from Christopher Wheeldon, Michael Smuin and Val Caniparoli, as well as the historic ballet Les Sylphides with refreshed choreography by our own Ben Needham-Wood after Mikhail Fokine.

Ballet in the Park

As the temperatures rise again, Boulder Ballet is thrilled to bring back this family-friendly performance at Boulder’s iconic outdoor venue, the Glen Huntington Bandshell.
