Happy Pride from HMH!

Every June, the United States honors Pride month, a commemoration of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, which took place when a police invasion of the now-infamous queer club set off protests across New York City in support of the LGBTQ+ community. Today, Pride isn’t just about recognition; it’s an unapologetic celebration of life and all of the milestones that the LGBTQ+ community has fought for and achieved since Stonewall — and a reminder of the continuing fight for equality.

Throughout Pride Month, join HMH as we participate in events, partner with our communities, engage in open conversations, march in Pride parades, and more, to elevate the voices of the LGBTQI+ community!

This year’s theme is EMERALD. It’s a day to celebrate with old friends and make new connections, enjoy appearances by special guests, vote for your favorite performance in an over-the-top lip sync contest, and bid on amazing silent auction items. 3 individuals who make the community better for LGBTQ+ people will be celebrated!

When we bought our home in Louisville in December 2020, we knew that we had a big project in front of us. We had a few key goals: to get the... absolute most out of the relatively limited space (1800 sq ft), yet also make it feel open and versatile. We wanted something that was modern, had clean, crisp lines and also felt warm and welcoming. We kept saying "scadanavian farmhouse". The result was something we love. HMH delivered on our vision and more. One of the things that we enjoyed most about working with HMH was the way they clearly stayed within the lines of our goals while simultaneously encouraging us to consider design elements that we would not have envisioned ourselves but that we ultimately totally love. For example, HMH designed a new metal staircase that was green - a real centerpiece for our home. Both the design and the color felt risky. But we trusted their direction and it is one of our favorite parts of our home. It is unique and beautiful and something different to what you typically see. We are so appreciative to HMH and the team for their willingness to create something spectacular, but also make beautiful design accessible to a young family. THANK YOU!read more
