Offering an in-house interior design team means the entire process — space planning, furnishings, paint and finishes, kitchen & bath design, lighting — is seamless and every detail is customized to your vision.
For any additional services your project may require, such as landscape architecture, we pride ourselves on connecting clients with the right professionals with whom we can seamlessly integrate our workflow.
Sharing our clients’ commitment to the environment, the HMH team includes sustainability specialists to provide expertise on green building strategies.
Since founding HMH in 1989, Harvey has overseen the design of 500+ projects. Growing up in Vienna, Austria—a city steeped in traditional and modern architecture—his heritage drives the firm’s bold ideas and unconventional approach. Harvey teases retirement but stays involved in every project. When not contemplating architecture, you’ll find him making jewelry or crushing black diamonds on the slopes.

Founding Principal
The best gift Leah ever got was a Barbie Dreamhouse. That house, paired with her dad’s real estate career, inspired her passion for design and creative problem solving. This SCAD Alum honed her skills working in the Big Apple, before making her way to Colorado to join HMH. Leah is a design savant and expert relationship builder – a true Aries. On weekends, find her hiking or camping with her husband and their cute pup.
LEAH CIVIOK
Design Director, Principal Interior Designer
Kristin approaches architecture from a love of craftsmanship and a drive to understand how things are made. Originally from Iowa, she studied architecture at Yale and spent many years practicing in NYC before landing in Colorado. Turns out her background vibed with HMH, and her disposition vibed with Colorado. Off the clock, you’ll find her in the mountains rock climbing or hanging with her husband and kids.
KRISTIN NOTHWEHR
Principal Architect
With years of architectural experience, Lauren brings bold, thoughtful design to every project, pushing her skills in sustainability and code. Along the way, she honed her craft in fabrication studios, building with glass, steel, and concrete. Her passion for advocacy culminated in a four-year term on Boulder’s City Council. When she’s not working, you’ll find her exploring and soaking up inspiration, van-life style.
LAUREN FOLKERTS
Principal Architect
Marc moved from just outside Philly in 2009, chasing the sweet spot where landscape meets design at CU Boulder. He honed his craft at a custom architectural metal shop and refined his approach with a Master of Architecture. Inspired by natural and built environments, he blends craft and creativity into each project. After hours, he’s chasing Colorado adventures—climbing, camping, fishing, and family time.
MARC DAUBERT
Architect
When it comes to architecture, Will’s passion is analyzing each site’s unique features, along with the client’s vision, to develop a strong design concept and final result. His background in music brings a deep appreciation for rhythm, structure, and collaboration into his work. He plays upright bass with a local string band—and if you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of his secret talent: salsa dancing!

Architectural Designer
Ryan comes packing a mad love of problem-solving, blending creativity with precision. A Passive House Certified designer, he brings building science and smart modeling into every project, making his designs perform as well as they look. When he’s not immersed in his work, you’ll find him mountain biking on local trails or chasing adventures with his partner, Britta.

Architectural Designer
Casey is here proving that being an architect AND interior designer is where the real fun begins. A natural collaborator with a sharp eye for details and deadlines, he bridges designers, architects, and custom furniture artisans with ease. When he’s not refining a design, he’s chasing inspiration through travel, photography, cooking, and art. Cool spaces, good vibes—always.
CASEY MEYER
Interior Designer
Meet Jen, a Midwestern Leo and a jane-of-all-trades. Jen studied Fine Art and later the art of visual storytelling at SALT Institute for Documentary Studies. Jen’s got a borderline obsession with details, so you know her logistics game is 12/10, 107% of the time. Which—surprise!—makes her the perfect FF & E Specialist. She rocks vintage clothing and rolls out the good vibes on her quad skates for fun.

Interior Designer / FFE Specialist
Stephanie is consumed with a passion for blending beauty with business. Her skills and experience let her handle the firm’s marketing while coordinating the day-to-day of bright-eyed designers. She even gets to do it in her hometown of Boulder—she went to Boulder High, right down the street from the HMH office. Weekends are for her pup, partner-in-crime, family, and soaking up mountain life.
