Month of Modern…it’s coming!

During the month of October, Boulder will be alive with Month of Modern (MoM). Founded by Modern in Denver magazine, HMH Architecture + Interiors, and Annabel Media, as a celebration of all things modern—architecture, design, lifestyle, art and culture—MoM’s mission is to cultivate a conversation about Colorado modern, and present the Denver/Boulder region as one of the nation’s most vibrant hubs of modern design.

“Colorado’s rich history of modern design, the high quality of work and craftsmanship, and a desire to simplify our lifestyles, has fueled a resurgence of modern design in Colorado over the last several years,” says Modern in Denver publisher and MoM co-founder, William Logan. “We are excited to focus a spotlight on both the great history of modernism in Boulder as well as the incredibly talented architects, artists and designers working today.”

Over the course of five weeks, Month of Modern will foster community and conversation with a series of events and social media campaigns designed to bring together the best products, services and thought leaders in Colorado’s modern design community.

Programming will culminate in the “It’s a MoM Wrap” Party Thursday, October 30th, bringing the Front Range design community together for what is sure to be one of the most talked about soirees of the year.

Founding partner Harvey M. Hine, whose architecture firm is celebrating its 25th anniversary, notes that, “Boulder has great food, fantastic weather and an active population. There are many events related to the outdoors, but not many occasions to study and celebrate design. We believe that there is a pent up interest in architecture that the public has no outlet for, and Month of Modern intends to fill the void.”

Travis Leo, Month of Modern sponsor and owner of Residential Systems Inc., notes that “Colorado is fortunate to have excellent supporters of the modern movement so to have a monthlong event to celebrate it is pretty exciting!”
